Since starting work at Carter County Museum, Sabre has expanded the museum, worked with other museums for outreach, and established the annual Dino Shindig. The dinosaur of the day: Bactrosaurus

• Hadrosauroid that lived in the Cretaceous in what is now China
• Name means “club lizard”
• Name refers to the club-shaped neural spines on some of the vertebrae
• Described by Charles W. Gilmore in 1933
• One of the earliest known hadrosauroids from Asia
• Gilmore found six specimens in a bonebed
• Skull fragments and postcranial fossils (including limbs, pelvis) have been found of at least 12 individuals (juveniles and adults), found in a bonebed
• Type species is Bactrosaurus johnsoni
• Another species is Bactrosaurus kysylumensis, which is also known as Cionodon kysylumensis (a dubious genus based on partial fragments, described by Edward Drinker Cope in 1874)
• A third species is Bactrosaurus prynadai, which was originally Tanius prynadai (not many bones have been found)
• About 20 ft (6 m) long, and weighed about 2,400-3,300 lb (1.1-1.5 tons)
• Originally thought to not have a crest, but a later study found what looks like the base of a crest in early development (that was partially preserved)
• A 2003 study found evidence of tumors, both benign and cancerous ones, in Bactrosaurus skeletons (may have been because of environmental factors or genetic)

• 261 sauropodomorphs
• 315 ornithischians
